Arsenal are in talks with striker Alexandre Lacazette over a new contract, per Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira.
What’s the word?
The France international has scored twice in three Premier League appearances already this season, including one in the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
Lacazette scored 19 goals in all competitions in 2018/19, while also registering 13 assists.
Schira claims that Arsenal have opened discussions over a possible new contract, which would run until 2023.
It would include a salary of €12.5m (£11.3m), or a weekly wage of £217,000.
A brilliant forward
Arsenal have to keep Lacazette at the club for as long as possible.
The forward is 28 and is hitting his peak, and he has the ability to both score and assist.
When paired with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has three goals this season already, Lacazette comes alive, regularly looking to thread through passes as well as trying to hit the back of the net.
